Ferrari fans waiting to welcome Fisichella at Monza’s Grand Prix

It is strictly Italian business at Ferrari after they abandoned Enzo Ferrari’s long standing policy of no Italian racing drivers at Maranello.  After the brief excitement that hit the Formula One world for the announcement that Schumacher would return to stand for injured Felipe Massa we were all left with an anti climax when the 7 times world champion wasn’t given the go ahead by the doctors and Ferrari had to go back to the drawing board. It was Luca Badoer who was given the great honour to drive the Ferrari and by doing so broke the long term myth. However two poor races made Ferrari rethink and after a lot of media speculation Ferrari announced Massa’s replacement for the rest of the season will be Giancarlo Fisichella. What an amazing opportunity for Fisichella who will fulfil his lifelong dream this week-end in front of an Italian crowd at the Monza Grand Prix. Let’s hope the emotion won’t take the better of him and he will show what a great driver he is.
