B.zero1 is the elegant jewellery collection by Bvlgari launched ten years ago to mark the turn of the millennium. The success of this line featuring the iconic spring and Tubogas-inspired coil started with the gold ring and is now enriched by a complete collection of jewels including pendants, earrings and bracelets. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its most successful line Bvlgari invited Anish Kapoor, one of the most acclaimed contemporary sculptors, to reinterpret the B.zero1 ring with excellent results. Not only the use of precious stones has made the historic ring more precious than ever, but the integration of other materials that coexist in harmony with gold has given the B.zero1 ring a new modern essence. The most striking version is the gold band completely clad in diamonds of different shapes and sizes creating a unique movement of light. Variations of the diamond clad ring are in white gold, pink gold and gold. The most interesting mix however has to be the unusual white or black ceramic with pink gold.
Meat Romeo, the cat shaped lamp designed by Giancarlo Dall’Omo for Casamania. The lamp is a modern décor for indoor and outdoor spaces. The simple design and soft light create the perfect atmosphere for chilling out. Romeo is made of Technogel, a unique non-toxic soft solid material that was initially developed for the medical field and is now used in a wide range of applications.

A pair of Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses is trendy enough, but the limited edition of sunglasses with Swarovski, pearls and other gems on the sides are unique luxury pieces. The precious stones turn a fine pair of sunglasses into a piece of jewellery making it the most wanted item of the summer. The D&G limited edition is only available at selected retailers around the world so if you miss them you can always pick one of the more affordable, but just as stylish, D&G designs that are more readily available.
This summer the word for sandals is height. Designers have been busy competing for record breaking high platforms and have produced some amazing sandals. We have already seen the mix of colour and material by Versace and Fendi ‘s head turners. Today is the turn of stylish wedges by Bottega Veneta. The models are simple and stylish enhanced by the classic design and the quality of the materials. Bottega Veneta’s sandals will look equally good with a pair of denims as they will with an evening dress.
Kuboletto is a clever solution for outdoor furnishing. Produced by Italian company Milano Bedding, Kuboletto is adaptable to any shape and use. It is easily transformed into deck chair, sofa, bed, stool or even a table. The cube shapes recall the Rubik cube, but Kuboletto is anything but difficult to transform into the right seating solution for you. The vibrant colours fit well in any modern home. Choose from white, black, green, orange or a combination of all of the above for a trendy pool side this summer.
Versace funky platforms are out and scream “buy me” from the top of their heels. They are not ordinary shoes. These sandals require the kind of skill that only consummated high heel walkers have achieved in years of practice. So all beginners stand aside and make room for the pros who will have no problem mastering the 180mm heels and 75mm platform.
The bold use of colour and mix of materials are mastered in true Versace style in the platform with stiletto heels and piton details. My favourite Versace style this summer is the silver lace-effect metal sandal with open toe and a funky pink sole. Although at €2311 is a little over budget for me.
The bright wood collection designed by Giancarlo Zema for Avanzini Group is an ultra modern set of coffee table and stools for outdoor and indoor spaces. This series of coffee tables and stools in wood and resin with incorporated lighting system are unique for the material and the originality of the design. The soft shapes are enriched by the atmospheric lights that come one after sunset.

This brilliant ultra modern home accessories by Rocket Design are being presented at the Milan Furniture Fair this week(14th to 19th of April 2010). Two young Italian artists are behind these funky creations that combine functionality and design in everyday objects whilst remaining true to the style and quality of the Made in Italy. The Italian duo has come up with some seriously rocking pieces. I love the electric guitar shaped coffee table in Plexiglas and aluminium. The coat hangers are bound to be a hit with the hip and young crowd. The fusion of the vinyl wall stickers and the lacquered wood and aluminium hangers is a clever innovative idea to mix 2D and 3D elements. Smaller accessories such as the wine rack, the rocking headphone napkin holders and the record coasters are also very cool.

Parah swimwear collection for 2010 is fresh and stylish as always. The Blonb Shadow Collection is made in Italy with exclusively Italian fabrics. For summer 2010 we can expect bikinis with push up bras or triangle shaped tops and small bottoms. More classic one piece swimsuits are also available with flattering lines. Recurring motifs are geometric shapes in psychedelic 70s’ style with bright colours, black and white tribal patterns and flower designs. The one colour fabrics are enriched by beads, embroideries and intertwined fabric.
The funky coffee tables by Compar fit ultra modern spaces. The clever combination of quality materials and innovative design allows this young Italian company to produce a product that is both innovative and functional. The modern lines and the bold use of colour complete the urban look with style. The Flower is a coffee table with personality that would easily fit any contemporary spaces; the transparent or black glass top sits on a chrome swivel base. The Mix is a funky curved glass coffee table available in lilac, green or black with transparent strips for extra movement of light. The Loto is my favourite for the design and its functionality. The Loto even has a table top lift version with a clever use of space for storing objects inside the base of white lacquered aluminium. Last but not least the Wind is a modern coffee table with a swivel top in transparent curved extra clear glass sitting on a flat white base. More information on these trendy tables on Compar.
